Dual Display on Poly Studio X Series Makes Video Meetings More Productive

What’s changing

We are excited to announce dual display support for Google Meet on the Poly Studio X Series to help make video meetings more productive. With dual displays, you can see more meeting participants, presentations, and documents at once, which can help you stay focused and engaged in meetings. With a single display, shared content takes over a majority of the screen and minimizes the view of meeting participants. Minimizing the view of participants can affect meeting engagement by limiting conversation between those who are in the room and those who are not.

During a video meeting with dual displays, the primary and secondary screens will show the view of all the participants in the meeting, including the view of the local room.
  • When a participant presents, the presentation will enlarge onto one screen display and the participant views will reflect on the other screen display.
  • Where supported, the controller or remote will also provide options like pinning participants, changing the layout of the participant tiles, and showing the meeting's chat history.

New Alert Center notifications for Apple push certificates

What’s changing

The Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) certificate is a critical component for advanced mobile management for iOS devices. This certificate expires yearly and requires manual renewal. If you don't renew the certificate, your organization’s iOS devices will not be able to access Google Workspace applications after the certificate expires. To help you stay on top of their renewal period and take action in a timely manner, we will:

Notify you via the Alert Center and email when:
  • Your certificate is 30, 10, and 1 day from the date of expiration.

Enhancing tool discovery in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

What’s changing

Starting today, we’re rolling out an enhanced tool finder at the top of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to make it easier for users to discover commonly used tools and features. These refined tool-finding capabilities aim to help you quickly locate relevant features or functionality using your own words. For example, if you search “who last viewed this document,” the Activity dashboard will surface.

If you open the enhanced tool finder immediately after you create a file, you’ll notice suggestions for common actions users take when preparing a new document, spreadsheet, or presentation, such as:
  • Page setup, Dropdown, Meeting notes in Docs
  • Insert rows/columns, merge cells, and freeze rows/columns in Sheets
  • Page setup, Spell check, Edit theme in Slides
Once you begin editing, you can find recent actions by clicking into the tool finder for easy access to your previously used features.

Prior to this launch, you could find features by navigating to Help>Search the menus. Starting today, that will redirect you to the enhanced tool finder. After a short transition period, the redirect will be removed and the tool finder will live permanently in the toolbar.
