Introducing the Winners and Class of 2016 of the YouTube NextUp, Mumbai

This July, we announced that YouTube NextUp was back in action in India. Over the last couple of weeks, some of India’s most exciting creative talent sent us their entries for NextUp, a contest which aims to discover the next generation of YouTube stars.

The entries we received came from multiple cities spanning the country from Kanyakumari in southernmost tip, Assam in the far east, and Jamnagar in the west to name a few. The array of content genres was just as diverse, including regional comedy, tech, food, visual effects, animation, vlogs, fashion and beauty, gaming and music, in as many as six different languages. This truly speaks volumes about the diversity of YouTube creators in India, and we can’t wait to see what else our creators will come out with next.

We’re excited to announce the Class of 2016 for our YouTube NextUp Mumbai.

*Drum roll*

The winners, in no particular order, are as follows:

NextUp winners get to be a part of a weeklong Creator Camp at YouTube Space Mumbai from September 19 to September 23, 2016 where they will team up with production experts to learn about and perfect their camera work, lighting, sound, and writing skills. They’ll also get to hear from some of the country’s top creators about their journeys on YouTube and explore possibilities of doing collaboration with other fast-rising creators in the program.

Winners also receive some cool prizes such as a voucher worth US$2,500 for production gear, channel strategy consultations, and invites to exclusive events.

Kudos folks! We can’t wait to see you at the Space.
