Developer’s Guide to AI Agent Protocols

This blog post introduces a suite of six protocols, such as MCP and A2A, designed to eliminate custom integration code by standardizing how AI agents access data and communicate. Using a "kitchen manager" agent as a practical example, it demonstrates how these tools handle complex tasks like real-time inventory checks, wholesale commerce via UCP, and secure payment authorization through AP2. By leveraging the Agent Development Kit (ADK), developers can also implement A2UI and AG-UI to deliver interactive dashboards and seamless streaming interfaces to users.

Stable Channel Update for Desktop

The Stable channel has been updated to 146.0.7680.153/154 for Windows/Mac  and 146.0.7680.153 for Linux, which will roll out over the coming days/weeks. A full list of changes in this build is available in the Log

GFiber products deliver long-term value through advanced infrastructure and hardware

GFiber delivers the best long-term value by providing service built on a 100% fiber-optic network and high-performance Wi-Fi hardware at no extra cost. Our infrastructure is engineered for today's data demands and whatever comes next.

What is 100% fiber optic internet?

Fiber optic cables transmit data as light signals through flexible strands of ultra-pure silica glass. Unlike traditional cable internet that often relies on copper wires, fiber optic cables carry high data rates over long distances with minimal interference.

In practical terms, a fiber network handles the load from more devices, streaming, and uploads without degrading.

High-performance hardware included

GFiber provides reliable hardware at no additional cost, including Wi-Fi 7 or Wi-Fi 6E routers and mesh extenders to ensure total home coverage depending on your product and service area. Your setup may include:

  • GFiber Wi-Fi 7 or Wi-Fi 6E Router: Advanced routers designed to support all your devices.

  • Mesh Extenders: Up to two extenders are included with multi-gig products to provide up to 5,000 sq ft of coverage.

  • Internet Battery Backup: Included with Edge 8 Gig to provide up to 2 hours of power during a typical blackout.*

  • Fiber Jack: The wall-mounted entry point where fiber enters your home.

Wi-Fi 7: Next-generation wireless performance

The GFiber Wi-Fi 7 Router is the best hardware for high-bandwidth households because it utilizes Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which acts as an intelligent traffic controller. While older Wi-Fi standards only communicate using one band at a time, MLO allows the router and mesh extenders to use multiple bands simultaneously.

This results in a more stable connection and enables wireless speeds up to 3.4 gigabits per second across the home. That’s up to 4x faster than Wi-Fi 6. Whether you’re gaming or video conferencing, Wi-Fi 7 provides smarter traffic management to keep a near-zero lag time, even with a house full of devices online.

Innovation through GFiber Labs

GFiber Labs is dedicated to defining what’s next in internet by researching and testing innovations to bring customers the next-generation of internet service. It brings together teams across the organization to make sure our infrastructure scales to meet the challenges of how we will use the internet in the years to come. For example, one current topic we’re exploring under GFiber Labs is what’s next in multi-gig speeds, including 50 Gig, 100 Gig, and beyond.

How do these efforts help GFiber deliver long-term value?

While GFiber Labs looks toward the future, you’ll feel the results today in a faster, more reliable connection. This commitment to improvement is why GFiber is valuable for the long haul. We deliver long-term value through our fiber optic network designed to handle growing data demands, high-quality hardware, and ongoing work with GFiber Labs to keep improving how your internet works.
