Until now, repeating a high-value AI task meant re-entering the same prompt every time you navigated to a new page or document. To streamline your workday, we’re launching skills in Chrome for eligible Workspace users. This feature allows you to save your most effective prompts and run them instantly with a single click, no matter where you are on the web.
By turning your proven prompts into reusable skills, you can focus less on prompt engineering and more on high-impact work.
Getting started
- Admins: There is no admin control for skills. It will be on by default for all users with access to Gemini in Chrome. Visit the Help Center to learn more about about turning the Gemini app, including Gemini for Chrome, on or off.
- End users: To access Gemini in Chrome, click the Ask Gemini icon at the top of your browser. Visit the Help Center to learn more about how to use skills here.
Rollout pace
- Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains: Extended rollout (potentially longer than 15 days for feature visibility) started on April 14, 2026
